Harvard Recreation marketing

Make campus feel like a community.

Fitness, recreation, and campus life have a lot of stories to tell. My work connects Harvard Recreation’s programs and people with the students and community members they serve.

The role

As Assistant Director of Marketing & Outreach at Harvard Recreation, I work across campaign planning, social media, promotional design, email, website content, and event coverage. The goal is to give people a clear way into the experience, whether they find it in their feed, in a newsletter, or on a campus flyer.

How I approach a campaign

I start with what makes the experience worth someone’s time. From there, I build a clear message, give it a recognizable visual direction, and adapt the idea for each place people encounter it.

A themed cycle ride, for example, needs more than a graphic. The creative should make the theme recognizable, keep the class information easy to find, and help someone decide whether to show up.

What I work on

  • Campaign planning and creative direction
  • Social media strategy, captions, and short-form video
  • Promotional graphics, flyers, and newsletters
  • Website copy and program communications
  • Event coverage and community storytelling
